Elena Benedi is an Ayurvedic Health Counselor completing her practicum with the California College of Ayurveda. She is also a Yoga-Alliance Certified 600-hours teacher, she teaches Dynamic Hatha, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga Nidra. She holds yoga retreats and teaches yoga in the island of Fuerteventura, Canary Islands in Spain. She also holds a BSc. In Environmental Science, a Masters in Water Management and a Master in Landscape Architecture.
From a very early age, she has valued wellness, from noticing the benefits of being in contact to nature to eating well and having practices that promote wellness (sports and more meditative and self-care practices). But most importantly is when her healing journey began after a life of high job-related stress and the consequences of being a high achiever-type personality. Her healing journey began 10 years ago when she developed chronic fatigue and hypothyroidism, after a struggle to come to terms with the illness, she began her own journey on the path towards healing. First, she applied this path to herself, by practicing yoga and changing her eating habits, as she saw the benefits and began to recover her energy levels and eliminate symptoms of illness, she started to share her yoga with others looking to heal and feel the benefits of the practice (whether physical or spiritual). Now Ayurveda is her greatest achievement and she feels that it is part of her dharma to heal herself and others by sharing the gifts of Yoga and Ayurveda with the world.

I am an entrepreneur and an Ayurvedic Intern Health Counselor, Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Swimming Instructor and a Reiki Master with a vision for a healthier life through Ayurveda and healing some of your emotions through the water.
I consider yoga asanas or kriyas as the physical channel for acknowledging our current state and Ayurveda is a means through which we remain in balance.
Both of them invite us to slow down, to look within and allow us to reconnect first with ourselves and then with each other. In my journey I’m committed to bring a sense of awareness and empowerment to each and every person that I encounter.
My mission is to share and heal and it's with these goals that I begin every yoga class and the way I will with my Ayurveda sessions. “I believe we each have an inner compass that knows the direction of our lives at every second. When you are in tune with your compass, the guidance and wisdom that’s inside of you becomes second nature. But you have to give yourself permission to listen to it”. Sometimes it just takes another pair of eyes to see it a little more clearly.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and figuring out how I can be a part of finding the best version of yourself.

Maritza began her Ayurvedic journey in 2014 on her search to heal her own chronic illness. After trying several Western and Eastern modalities, Ayurveda was the only method that healed with lasting results. Fascinated in the ways the laws of nature are reflected in the principles of Ayurveda, her involvement grew further with formal studies in Miami, and continued on to the California College of Ayurveda where she successfully completed the Ayurvedic Health Counselor 1 and Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist 1 programs. She believes everyone should have access to Ayurveda’s wisdom and personal tools for health. She enjoys sharing this knowledge with others. When she is not studying, she is busy supporting all fields of knowledge through her full-time work at a public library.

Valarie began her path towards understanding the mind and body connection in 2010 when she discovered yoga and meditation as a way to help ease stress and prevent injury from years of running and triathlon training. Valarie later became a certified yoga instructor in 2016, RYT200, and continued her learning with an additional 100-hour mentorship to dive deeper into yoga philosophy and psychology, mantra, mudra, and meditation practices.
Valarie was introduced to Ayurveda through her studies in yoga and became more interested in the ancient healing wisdom of Ayurveda due to her own health challenges. She decided in late 2018 to leave behind her 20-year corporate career in Human Resources to pursue her dharma to help others heal holistically (i.e., mind, body, and spirit) through the power of Ayurveda and yoga. She enrolled at the California College of Ayurveda in Spring 2019 and is currently an Ayurvedic Health Counselor Intern and plans to transition right into the Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist internship as the next step in her journey.

Hailing originally from Minnesota, Rebecca brings the art of Midwest pleasantries into all her interactions. Having a yoga teacher and practitioner for a parent, she grew up doing asana, mediation, and pranayama. She originally discovered Ayurveda at 15 and fell in love with it and began to formally study Ayurveda at 20. She eventually decided that she would like a deeper understanding of Western Medicine so she moved to Romania where she attended medical school and earned her M.D. After realizing that western medical practice wasn’t her calling, she came back to the US and rediscovered her love for Ayurveda, which brought her to the California College of Ayurveda and the sweet community of Nevada City. Rebecca has done 500hr YTT, has a medical degree, and is currently an Ayurvedic Health Counselor Intern at CCA, with the goal of eventually completing the Ayurvedic Doctor program. She has a deep love, respect, and endless fascination for the human body and for yogic sciences.

I have always been interested in health and healing and alternative methods of wellness. When a friend explained the health analysis she had received from an Ayurvedic practitioner, the light bulb in my head went off.
Ayurveda has a method to create an individual profile that can see the weaknesses and strengths of any person. I was intrigued and needed to learn more about this health science called Ayurveda.
After researching Ayurvedic schools in the U.S., I began my Ayurvedic educational journey at California College of Ayurveda in Nevada City, CA.
Helping people return to their best health through diet, herbs, and lifestyle changes is the foundation of Ayurvedic wellness and is also my goal for each of the patients that seek the benefits of an Ayurvedic lifestyle.

Devin is an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and an aspiring Ayurvedic Chef. Since receiving her Bachelor of Science in geology, she has shifted her focus from solely studying the earth to now exploring and honoring our connection to it. She believes that in order to establish peace and harmony on this planet, we must first find peace and harmony within ourselves. Her goal is to help guide her clients to come home to themselves, to fill their cups first. By optimizing our nourishment, on and off the plate, we cultivate the vehicle that allows us to reach our highest potential. Devin’s dream is to watch her clients fill their own cups, show others they can do the same, and watch as the world bathes in the overflow.
