Louise Bennicoff Johnson was born in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1957.  She is a graduate of Reading High School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Penn State University, a Master’s degree in School Administration from Fresno Pacific University and a Doctorate in School Leadership from William Taft University.

A lifelong learner, teacher and coach, Louise has recently retired from a 34-year career in public education.  She taught high school biology, geology, chemistry, and physics. She was an elementary school principal, a district director of Curriculum and Instruction and a California school district Superintendent for 15 years.  Her most recent assignment was that of Superintendent of the Nevada Joint Union High School District where she oversaw 7 high schools in Nevada County, CA. Her personal life mission statement always was, “To bring the gift of school to the children who need it most.”

Louise came to Ayurveda in the spring of 2015 when the stress of her job started to take a significant toll on her health.  Through the Wisdom of Ayurveda, she was able to learn to manage the stress and become a better educator and leader for her school district.   Now, her personal life mission is “To bring this ancient wisdom for modern health to all who can benefit.”

Louise lives with her husband in Nevada City, CA and is delighted to be able to serve you as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor Intern here at the California College of Ayurveda.
